Frazer-Nash Consultant, Ben Heard, spoke at The International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Melbourne on Wednesday 31 October.

Ben gave the keynote address, "Nuclear power in Australia: an ongoing debate", which discussed the changing nature of the Australian power industry. As he explains:

"Across metrics of price, reliability, and cleanliness, the Australian power sector is facing a whole range of challenges. There is an energy transition underway. For example our coal sector has commenced retirement with perhaps no clear path to replacement or substitution. Nuclear technologies, deployed alongside Australia's other energy advantages, have the potential to put Australia's transition on a stronger path to reliable, clean and affordable power for coming generations.

Australian industry, government and civil society is realising the need to discuss this more openly and calmly from a basis of evidence".
