Adelaide-based Frazer-Nash Engineer, Ross Anderson, has been selected as a finalists in the Australian Rail Association's 'Young Rail Professionals Pitching Competition'.

Ross is one of five finalists shortlisted in the competition, open to railway professionals aged 30 or under. Entrants were asked to pitch innovative concepts targeted at any aspect of the rail industry - technical, engineering, customer service or strategic - which could increase safety, or improve operational practice, rail performance or customer service.

Ross's pitch on 'Undertaking an app-based approach to improving user experience in the rail industry' will be delivered to a panel of rail industry professionals at the national AUSRail Conference being held in Brisbane from 21 to 23 November. If selected as the winner, he will receive a package to attend international rail conference, Innotrans, in Berlin in 2018, including return flights and accommodation.

Australia's Systems Engineering Technical Manager, Damien Farrell, said:

"We congratulate Ross on his selection as finalist, and wish him the very best for his pitch in November. This is an outstanding achievement for our Australian business, supporting several of our initiatives around the rail sector and digitisation."
