Damien Farrell, Senior Business Manager for Defence in Frazer-Nash's Australian business, has been selected to participate in the Governor's Leadership Foundation (GLF), South Australia's flagship leadership development programme.

Championed by the Governor of South Australia, the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, the GLF is a 10-month programme designed to broaden, enhance and accelerate leadership capability

Participants in the successful cohort, who are selected from across the private, government and not-for-profit sectors, will be challenged, inspired and confronted through experiential, reflective and interactive learning.

Congratulating Damien on achieving a place on the GLF programme, Jonathan Armstrong, Director, Australian Business said:

"Damien's successful selection, against stiff competition, is both an acknowledgement of his openness to embracing new experience and an affirmation of his career success to date.

"Frazer-Nash's Australian business seeks to help organisations deliver innovative engineering, to make lives more secure, safe, sustainable and affordable. To make a meaningful contribution to our clients' success, in a world of escalating complexity and ambiguity, we must embrace a wide diversity of thinking. The GLF programme offers this breadth and depth of perspective: challenging unconscious bias, drawing participants away from their comfort zones, encouraging informed risk-taking and instilling a deep connection with purpose.

"As we invest in our leadership team to ensure we can deliver our mission, we are delighted to support Damien in his development journey, which many previous participants have found to be life-changing."

Damien said:

"Two months after starting I've already learnt much from the programme, and from the diversity of perspectives that my fellow participants bring to our discussions. The focus on adaptive leadership has been immediately applicable to my daily business activities.

"I particularly value the programme's emphasis on developing practical wisdom to support good judgement and strategic foresight when faced with challenging decisions that have no easy answers."
