News & Events-Lessons in life extension from Frazer-Nash

Frazer-Nash Senior Consultant, Dr Kieran Chalk, will be presenting on the life extension of aging assets at an event taking place on 21 February.

Kieran's talk: 'Aging but not obsolete: Lessons in life extension' will be given at an evening presentation for the Australian Institute for Non-destructive Testing (AINDT) and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Western Australian Section, to be held at Woodside Auditorium in Perth, WA.

Kieran said:

"Keeping existing assets operating safely and reliably is a challenging but essential task, particularly in a climate of low CAPEX and OPEX budgets where robust justification is required for any financial expenditure.

"My talk will examine lessons in asset integrity management and life extension, gained from a range of industries, and will consider how they can be applied to physical asset management in the oil and gas industry.

"I'll be looking at subjects ranging from the management of pipelines, electrical infrastructure and corrosion, through to how engineering analysis can be effectively used to aid financial decision making."
