Two of Frazer-Nash’s Adelaide-based young engineers are featured in the August edition of Engineers Australia’s Create magazine.

Dominic Burnet is included in Engineers Australia’s list of 100 inspiring engineers who are making a difference to the community; while an interview with Luke Heffernan describes his leadership potential in the development of space technologies.

Dominic is profiled in the ‘Influence and Ingenuity’ section of the Create magazine feature describing inspiring members of Engineers Australia. Dominic has volunteered his time to investigate how the use of 3D printing can be of benefit to the blind and visually impaired, enabling spatial navigation using tactile surfaces.

In his profile, which can be found in the ‘100 Members Making a Difference’ article on the Engineers Australia website, he discusses his choice of career, what excites him about the future of the engineering profession, and the issues it faces.

Luke, who initially worked as an intern for Frazer-Nash at Christmas, and returned after completing his honours degree, features in the ‘People’ section of Create magazine. In the three-page article he talks about ‘Adept’, the club he formed at the University of Adelaide to build a practical, hands-on engineering culture; his research project investigating free-space optical communications for the space industry; and the work he’s undertaking at Frazer-Nash, including on space satellites and natural language processing.
