On Tuesday 28 July, Karen Ng will be presenting a paper at the Rail Infrastructure Asset Management conference in Sydney, New South Wales.

Incorporating Reliability Analysis to Improve Asset Management, 3.55pm Tuesday 28 July

Karen, a Consultant in the Systems Engineering team, will be presenting a paper on asset management planning from a reliability perspective, exploring how Frazer-Nash Consultancy has been involved in:

  • Assessing the reliability of rail infrastructure with particular reference to how reliability in rail depots contributes to overall system reliability
  • Methodologies for effective operations with reliability, availability and maintainability as key goals (RAMS)
  • Best practice in asset management planning with case studies to demonstrate effective and ineffective planning techniques.

Karen will also provide insight from a consultant's perspective on techniques for asset optimisation across the asset life-cycle, detail key lessons learned and suggest future strategies for industry.

About Rail Infrastructure Asset Management 2015
The Rail Infrastructure Asset Management, organised by the IQPC will take place from 28th July to the 29th July 2015 at the Rydges Sydney Central in Sydney, Australia. There is a growing need for rail asset owners to incorporate pro-active and preventative maintenance into their asset management plans in order to plan for the entire asset life-cycle.

The conference will address how the increased demand for passenger and freight rolling stock is compounding the wear-and-tear of existing infrastructure, and guide asset owners to improve their planning and maintenance processes to get the most out of their assets (
